Using any other plugin name or capitalization may break timing in LiveSplit. Make sure your SAR plugin is named sar.dll, and that you're loading SAR into Portal 2 with the command plugin_load sar.If it isn't updating, run it as an admin. LiveSplit sometimes needs to be ran as an admin on your machine to work. This will interfere with SAR's autosplitter. Be sure to disable the Autosplitter built into LiveSplit through the Edit Splits. If Reset isn't greyed out, redownload the ASL from the link above. Ensure the Start & Split option boxes in the Autosplitter's settings are checked (the reset box should be greyed out).asl file, not a text file, and try remaking the file to ensure there are no issues.

Select Scriptable Auto Splitter and navigate to the file.Select the large + icon at the top left.Open LiveSplit with Portal 2 splits (blank splits can be found here).asl file and place it somewhere you can find. asl files are used to interface with LiveSplit, so using SAR with LiveSplit is fairly simple following these steps. However, full mods like Portal Stories: Mel require SAR to be installed manually. Note: Portal 2 Speedrun Mod (P2SM) and other Sourcemods use SAR for timing as well, but these mods read from your base game install, so you do not need any special installation for SAR with P2SM.
